Clean your horse's hooves daily, removing any stones or debris, ideally with a brush. While hoof picks are commonly used, be careful not to damage the healthy horn. Maintaining the right moisture balance in the hoof horn is crucial. If too wet, the hooves can soften, wear down quickly, and increase the risk of thrush. If too dry, they become brittle, making shodding difficult and reducing support. Our Simply Bee Horse Hoof Balm, containing antibacterial agents like propolis and beeswax, helps maintain this balance. For dry hooves, first wet them with water, let them dry slightly, and then apply our hoof balm to lock in moisture.
