5 Tips for winter skin care

by | Blog

It’s that time of the year when we find comfort with a cup of hot chocolate next to the fireplace and prefer to stay indoors. Even-though our South African winters aren’t that cold we still have to ensure our skin stays moisturised and protected from the elements. Our skin care products are specially formulated to take extra care of the South African skin.

Here are 5 tips to get the best from your skin-care routine.

Change your cleanser: Rather go for Simply Bee’s Cleansing Cream in Glass or Plastic and not a soap cleanser during the winter months. Soap cleansers tends to dry out the skin as they have an alkaline PH and our skin holds an acidic PH. Soap cleansers removes the skin’s protective barrier which prevents the skin from drying out.

Remember to exfoliate: Keep on exfoliating during the winter months! Follow up the Simply Bee Cleansing Cream with a handful of Simply Bee Face Scrub. It is gentle and with it’s base of brown sugar that melts while you scrub – it removes dead skin cells that is blocking your skin from absorbing moisturiser.

Honey Hydrating Face Mask: Use our rich Simply Bee Honey Hydrating Mask that is loaded with plenty honey and Coconut Oil. It is the perfect way to spoil your skin! A super-easy and fantastic mask you can make at home is the classic Honey Mask. Just take two table spoons of honey and one spoon of oats, mix together and apply to your face after exfoliation. Leave it on for 25 minutes and rinse off. Follow with our Simply Bee Daily Moisturising cream or Night Cream.

Propolis Serum: Propolis, that magic substance produced by the bees to protect their hives, does not just help with cell renewing it also keeps your skin moisturised. For even better results combine Simply Bee Propolis Serum with our Simply Bee Daily Moisturiser or the award-winning Anti-aging Cream .

Night Cream: During winter months, be sure to add our super moisturising Simply Bee Night Cream. With a Shea Butter base, it acts as a protective moisturising mask while you sleep.
