This year marks a very special milestone for us - 15 years of Simply Bee.

It is a 100 years ago that a seed was planted. In 1926, my grandfather began our family’s journey in beekeeping, laying the foundation for a legacy rooted in respect for nature. In 1954, my father continued this path, nurturing both the bees and the knowledge passed down through generations. In 2008, my husband Pierre and me carried this legacy forward, and from this rich heritage and Fynbos honey, Simply Bee Natural Beeswax Products was born on 22nd March 2011.

What began as a passion for pure, natural ingredients has grown into a proudly South African skincare brand trusted by customers, stockists, and supporters across the country. From our first jars of raw fynbos honey to the full range of natural beeswax products you know today, our journey has always been guided by one simple belief: nature provides everything our skin truly needs.

Over the past 15 years, we have remained committed to:
• Honest, transparent ingredients
• Supporting sustainable beekeeping
• Creating products that nurture skin naturally
• Building meaningful relationships with our community

None of this would have been possible without you. Your trust, loyalty, and support have allowed us to grow, learn, and continue doing what we love every day.

As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to the future with gratitude and excitement, continuing to care for your skin the natural way. Thank you for being part of our story.

With heartfelt appreciation,
Helena van der Westhuizen

Our Story: A Legacy of Honey & Heart

Simply Bee is a family-run beekeeping and natural skincare business rooted in the West Coast of the Western Cape, where bees, people, and nature have lived in balance for generations.

Our story began nearly a century ago.
In 1926, beekeeping became part of our family’s way of life. This knowledge was passed down to the next generation in 1954, and in 2008, Helena van der Westhuizen and her husband Pierre took over the family’s beekeeping legacy, not as a business at first, but as a responsibility to the bees and the land.
